Admissions to our school
All children are welcome to come to Asterdale Primary School, whether they live in our catchment area or beyond. We are happy to show prospective parents and children around our school. Please either email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or telephone the school office (013322 662323) to make an appointment if you would like to look round our school.
The Local Authority are the admission officers for our school and are responsible for co-ordinating all applications from parents and carers for school places. If you want to apply for an infant, junior or primary school place in Derby, you need to make an application to Derby City Council.
We have a maximum intake of 30 pupils annually in September. Please note that if your child already attends Nursery at our school, this does not automatically give them a place in our Reception Class. You must still apply through the Local Authority for your Reception place.
If you wish to enquire about an 'in year' place at Asterdale Primary School, please contact the Local Authority Admission department who will advise you how to apply for any places that may be available.

School Admissions - Appeals
If your request for a school place is refused, this is ususally because the school has received more applictaions than there were places available. Derby City Coucil Admisisons Team can give you more information on other schools that may have places available.
You can appeal the decision, however please check that your child has met all of the admission criteria before making an appeal.
